Renovation vs. Remodeling

These terms sound the same and often used interchangeably. As with all things built, details matter so we use the most accurate language. 

  • Remodeling is making significant, large changes to a building. Think tearing out walls, moving plumbing pipes, adding rooms etc. Always requiring a building permit. 

  • Renovation is making old or dated finishes new and modern. Usually not requiring a building permit. 

We focus on renovations and repairs. Renovation projects offer the best ROI or "bang for the buck".  Repairs keep the old working like new which is sometimes all it takes to improve quality of life. Our focus on these types of projects keeps us in direct control of the schedule and most importantly the details. From time to time we do take on larger projects, once in a blue moon.
